A part of me knows it's silly to review a neighborhood Chinese take-out joint. Another part of me knows that it's silly to give one of these places five stars. Another, louder part is going to do it anyway. When a massive carton of garlicky rice, shrimp, and vegetables costs $6 and doesn't taste like shit, there's really no complaining. Having no menu handy, I looked at the photos and called the place, at about 2pm, and said, "can I have the lunch special with shrimp and broccoli?" I had little idea what I'd be receiving. Turns out, it was pretty good, had an interesting brown garlic sauce, and only cost the equivalent of 20 minutes of wages. The place seemed clean and the guy behind the counter was courteous. So yep, no room for complaints.

I rely heavily on Yelp when I am traveling. I try to eat at local establishments with the hope of finding a gem that I can come back to when I'm in town. I am rarely disappointed but today was one of those days. This restaurant is average at best. I did not find one part of my meal that I would call redeeming except maybe the can of diet Coke that came with my lunch. I am a big fan of General Tso's chicken. It is a favorite. Today, it tasted weird. There was no heat. The rice tasted like it was made yesterday and stuck in the fridge to be reheated when ordered. Another favorite of mine is Wonton soup. This soup however had a thin, flavorless broth and tasted more like dish soap than wonton's. There are much better offerings than this one so please chose elsewhere. I know I will.

Based only on the hot & sour soup: Large $4.50 No pieces of meat or chicken in the soup. Very pale color. Huge pieces of tofu. I prefer a stronger flavor & richer broth. Ok for a quick take-out lunch.

I have been spoiled in Orlando and have found a lot of great Chinese food in some areas. Unfortunately this place didn't live up to the hype. It was pretty typical for me. Nothing taste fresh or is superbly cooked. It was just ok. The prices were on the lower side but that doesn't warrant an extra star to me. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. The food was good but not great; I would return if I had to but there's so many places to choose from I wouldn't purposely come back. If you're just looking for the basics I would recommend them.

After having become disillusioned with the other Hop-Bo location we finally got around to getting some takeout from here a couple of times recently and we were pleasantly surprised. The pork lo mein here is some of the best I have eaten and their pan fried dumplings are awesome as are their egg rolls. The chicken in some of the dishes can be a little overcooked but they give you so many wonderful fresh veggies in all their dishes it is a minor issue. I noticed that at least some of the crew are the folks that used to be at the other location. Hmmm, maybe they swapped places for a while, one day when I have more time I will have to ask. Either way, this will become a regular place for us to get take out, glad we gave them a try.

Mall food... Sunflower right across the street is way better. Price is cheaper here, but so is quality. Not bad... I like mall food. Just prefer sunflower taste wise.

I'm a skeptical person when it comes to ordering out, I prefer to cook at home or go to a nice upscale restaurant, until I came across this little gem on 2/14/14 I think I fell in love with Chinese food! The place is very clean, and the service is super friendly. I went back the very next night and the following day, and again today, that's why I had to write this review. The food is made to order and the vegetables are fresh. The wait isn't very long if you walk in to place your order. I believe the husband and wife who are usually there are the owners, they are very nice people and they remembered me which I think is great. If you are a ordering out skeptic like myself give this place a try; I'm sure you wont be disappointed if you like fast, friendly, clean, and flavorful fresh food.

I have nothing bad to say about this place. Very clean and high quality food. The service is above par, they hand out high quality magnets, which shows you they are investing in their business and are aiming for longevity. I usually get the curry chicken from here and am full and satisfied everytime. The burbon and chicken wings are also a wonderful choice.I skip out on the greasy burger joints to hit HopBo up on my lunch hour once a week and I couldn't be happier.

Average. I had the lunch special of Cashew Chicken. It probably should have been called celery with cashews because it had way more celery than anything else. There were a couple peas, a couple carrots. The sauce was good but garlicky, I wish there had been more chicken. The fried rice was also average. Not much flavor. Every shopping center has a chinese place so I'd try others before going back.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
